Bring your instrument in for a quick check up in the spring and in the fall. Due to changing temperatures, these are the most difficult times of the year for your instrument. Having your instrument checked often keeps repair costs down and keeps us here at the shop from feeling lonely.

Whew! It’s been very busy around here. Between filing taxes, restorations and helping clients, I haven’t had time at the shop to do anything fun. But, this summer I went out to New Hampshire and studied bow making with Lynn Hannings. I have been making bows at home, and the response has been great! The first cello bow I made at class sold to the first client to play it. My latest violin bow was recently compared to a Hill and a Vorin. My customer said it played better than his $9000 Hill! But not as good as the Vorin, there is always room for improvements. I am very excited about all this, and as soon as I can get a nap in, I’ll be back at the bow making bench. I have nearly completed another cello bow, and a viola bow and violin bow are currently underway. If you are interested in seeing my bows, please stop by the shop.
